Our mission is to sell understanding of the herbal world and our region in it. The museum’s collections inform the records of the planet and are a file of human interplay with the environment and one another. Because of the boundless interest of our researchers, the breadth and intensity of our medical collections, and our capability to inspire destiny generations of scientists, we've a important position to play. Boundless interest drives them to explore Earth, the species that depend on it, the cultures that inhabit it, and the forces that regulate it. We steward a set of a hundred forty five million specimens and artifacts. Each one displays a second in area and time; in those moments we find Earth’s story. Our exhibits, our educational programs, and our workforce and volunteers share our collections and the understanding drawn from them with thousands and thousands of traffic each year – deepening their appreciation for science, the herbal and cultural international, and the challenges of our time.
